TOPIC: Emoticons

Emoticons 1 year, 6 months ago #1

I am fairly new to this and searched the forums to try to find answer but could not. My question, is there a easy way of adding new emoticons to the forums and if so where would i find that at?

Thanks for your help it is much appreciated.

Yes, there is.

First upload the new images you want to use, to your language image-smiley folder

Then in kunena backend, use smiley administrator to do the new relations between bbcode and the images you just uploaded

Ok one last question since i am a noob at this. The Language image smiley folder is this located in the Kunena backend or is it further back? I have the area found where to make the relations between bbcode and the images just not sure where the folder is. Thanks once again for the help

I have uploaded new emoticons, but they do not show up in my drop-down list in the back-end. Can anyone help me with this issue? Greatly appreciated!

Thanks for the reply Lintzy. The documentation is good, but my issue is that the images I have uploaded to the language/smilies folder do not show in the pick-list for the URL field. Any additional ideas to get these files to show in the list is appreciated!

cite from chapter:

"URL: On this dropdown list we will be able to select one of the images inside the 'root/components/com_kunena/template/default_ex/images/language/emoticons/' folder (will differ when using different templates). We cannot select this folder, Kunena decides which smileys to show based on the language we decided on logging in joomla. Notice this does not affect in anyway the associations, but if there's a smiley that is only available on a language image folder, the rest of the language will share the association but with an empty smiley, this will affect on posts, as it will not shown the text string (ej.: :yuck:) nor any image. For this we recommend if you use localized smileys in a Multilanguage forum, to have a version of each smiley in each of the language folders."
