TOPIC: Problem with Kupala Captcha on Kunena menu item

Problem with Kupala Captcha on Kunena menu item 1 Month ago
I just upgraded from Joomla! 1.5.14 to 1.5.15 and from Fireboard to Kunena. I now have a problem whereby Kupala Captcha outputs 3 'labels' from the language .ini file instead of the correct text associated with the labels. On my production site this only happens on the Kunena menu item. However, on my local server it happens on every menu item, so I am not suggesting this is necessarily an issue to do with Kunena, but maybe a Joomla! 1.5.15 error.

Has anybody else experienced this? Please click here and select the Forum menu item.

I have posted a similar thread on the Joomla! forum and the Google Captcha group.

Any ideas? Thanks.

Something must be interfering with catcha plugin(?). It seems that it's not loading language file.

I have now repeated the process of upgrade from Joomla! v1.5.14 to v1.5.15 on my local server - Captcha was OK.

HOWEVER: as soon as I upgraded from Fireboard to Kunena the error re-occurred - ONLY on the forum menu item (all other menu items AOK.

I have posted to googlegroups joomlacaptcha and their man Viktor is investigating. I have reported that the error seems to be connected to the installation of Kunena (or, rather, the upgrade from Fireboard)

Viktor asked me to check the code in the captcha.php plugin file - it seems OK. I have checked that the language file is correct. I suggested that Kupala Captcha liaise with Kunena to investigate.

The googlegroups joomlacaptcha thread can be found here groups.google.com/group/joomlacaptcha/br...ead/3454e00bc138f844

Thanks for your help.

I suspect the same: something is preventing language file from being loaded. But according to that function, it's a plain Joomla function call -- no idea why this happens.

Where to get this plugin?

I encountered this peculiar behaviour when I visited this website to look into the Strange characters (not people!) on every post [browser-related] issue.

On some pages, the CAPTCHA displays like this:
... while on other pages (this one on the Forum) it appears like this:

captcha by Kupala is a Joomla 1.5 native plugin. I've not encountered it before, but it looks interesting.

If you think I'm wrong then say "I think you're wrong." If you say "you're wrong", how do you know?

Matias, I'd be very grateful to know if there is any likelihood of this issue being resolved. I provided the download address of the Jupala Captcha plugin and wonder if you have had a chance to download, install and test the pulgin - and did you get the same issue that I get? An update would be appreciated.

Thanks.
